Promthep Cape, Phuket Island

This is a fun trip on the motorbike from Patong Beach. It’s about a 30-40 minute drive depending how fast you go. If you’re picturing Phuket Island it’s on the right side, over the hill from Patong to Kathu and Phuket town and go right. When you see the windmills you’ll know you’re close.

It’s a hike up a hill to see some Buddhist memorials, with an elephant collection that seems to defy explanation… Then if you’re up to it a short hike down the side of a hill and out onto the cape which affords some nice views – such as this one.

Some locals fish off the rocks of the cape, the rocks are sharp – bring your Teva / Nike sport sandal type shoes to avoid your sandals slipping off and ripping your foot open.
