We created this blogging network for a few reasons. The first reason being we noticed that there really is no premiere web site that is bringing very large numbers of visitors to it's pages. There are some successful web sites in Thailand but there is no "1" site that is the standard by which others are judged. There are many sites that are sites that fill niches like: Teaching; Nightlife; Visa; Classifieds. Those all come to mind. But, there really is no site about Thailand that really shows from all different perspectives what Thailand is like. With this network focused only on Thailand we hope to show visitors Thailand through firsthand experience shared by the authors in our blogger network as well as show by photos, videos, mp3's and other media what Thailand is from a visual perspective. Blogs are easy-reading. They are in short chunks - not usually longer than 1000 words at a time. They are full of information, but above all they're interesting. They may have photos, videos, mp3's or all of these combined into one post. They may be full of links to other first-class resources for information on the topic of the blog. They may have none. The writer of a blog is trying to make a connection with his or her audience. Once that connection is made, readers may continue reading for months or years. Blogs are current and relevant. They provide a way for the audience to interact through leaving comments for the author and for others that have commented earlier. They are loved by search engines when optimized properly and can bring traffic by the thousands. A network of blogs can do this to another degree entirely. Blog networks are coming into their own as search engine specialists realize that the best way to "own" a category one is interested in is to create a group of blogs focused on that topic. In time that network has more quality, current, and relevant material than anything else that exists.
