Welcome...

We created this site for visitors and expats of Thailand. The goal is to make this a one-stop web site for anyone that wants to see facts, stories, photos, videos and other resources about Thailand. If there is something that you don't find here please write us and let us know... We honestly think we have the time to add almost anything here. We definitely have the bandwidth and storage space!

We've been considering creating this site for a couple years now. There are many web sites about Thailand and yet none that really offer everything in one place. Most of them are thinly-veiled advertisements to get you to sign up for hotel reservations and other reservations. Of course we do too, but that's not the focus. We really want to be the BIGGEST content site Thailand has. We'll do our part - we'll have online a few thousand photos and a couple hundred videos shortly. But, that's not enough. Even that might be the biggest photo and video collection about Thailand, but we want to be really big. Big big. If you and everyone you know and everyone that comes to this site submits their great photos and videos then we'll be really big. That's the kind of big we want. A dream? Yes, for now...

We don't have any Adult-oriented material. We're going to stay away from that side of things since other sites already have very large followings. We may have some links to story sites and forums with adult material, but that's about all.

We're hoping that visitors to this site will use it to publish their own works. We want: PHOTOS, VIDEOS, STORIES, PDF Files, E-BOOKS, Articles, REVIEWS of things in Thailand, MP3's of anything - you playing guitar and singing a Thai song, a video of you bungie jumping in Patong, a recipe for Tom Yum Goong, a photo of you surfing at Patong beach, an MP3 of frogs or Too-Geh at night (the large, eery lizard that makes the great noises... really, if you've got it and YOU'RE interested in it - send it to us!

If you're sending just one or two files - don't worry much about what format it's in... If sending sound files - mp3 is nice, but really, we can convert anything if it's good. If you have video - just about anything is OK. AVI is TOO big though. We don't have great video editing equipment or fast processors - so AVI is out. If you have a file that is: mpg, wmv, .mov, .wma, .au, .bmp, .tif, .jpg, .pdf, .doc, .xls, .etc... send it

We're hoping that this will become a portal that web surfers wanting to find information about Thailand will come to first - get the latest - read something or see something interesting and then click off to go to another site or hunker down and stay for a few hours and really see a lot of content. There's something here for everyone. At least that's the goal.

While we offer a lot of firsthand information at ThaiPulse.com we know we can't possibly be everything for everyone. There are some great informational resources already thriving online and we'd much rather link to them than try to develop something better.

It would be great if this site could be a sort of Wikipedia of information about Thailand. Wikipedia is an open encyclopedia that is created by web surfers that have expertise in some area. They create an entry in this public encyclopedia and anyone can edit their entry to correct mistakes or add information. A-N-Y-O-N-E with information that adds something of value to this site is encouraged to send it to us. If it is an Article you have written and we post it we will give you credit for it and provide your email if you wish. You can remain anonymous too - up to you. If you have ANYTHING we can add to the site please send it and we'll take a look. This site was created in 3 weeks during October school break (I teach English in Surat) and I know we've not covered even a small fraction of what we want to eventually cover.

Please understand that this site is full of opinion. Facts are facts, but if it isn't a definitive fact, then please don't take it as one. It is opinion. You are welcome to submit your Articles with as much opinion or fact as you wish. We will probably not post something overtly racist, damning, spiteful, etc... but, we might. Give it a try.

Especially welcome are submissions about scams and other cautions that should be exercised by visitors and residents of Thailand. We want to be a portal of relevant and recent information that we can alert people to. We really believe that sharing information among us is the best way to enjoy Thailand to it's fullest.

So, SHARE your information! If you know a great web site that isn't mentioned here - let us know. If you know a service that isn't covered - please tell us. If you wrote an Article and you want to see if we'll post it - send it. There will be updates to the site daily and it's easy enough to cut and paste an Article into a new page and give it a link off the home page or a secondary page.

The sites that are mentioned on this site as links have all been personal favorites of ours and they don't pay any money to be listed here. In fact, since we don't have ANY advertising - nothing is paid for yet. Yet. Advertisements will be in the form of banners and buttons as we grow.
