There are incredible waterfalls here in Thailand. If one comes
during the rainy season the reward is that much more. The waterfalls
are not generally hard to reach, but they require more effort than
you might have to give in the West where you would be able to park
your car and walk 50 meters and be 'there'.
In Thailand you might park, and walk along the waterfall for an hour before you reach the top - or you might still not be there. You might climb a little bit - after all a waterfall is UP to get to the different levels. If you have any fitness issues you shouldn't try to go the whole distance. Usually the humidity here is VERY high and the temperature hovering between 35-42 degrees. Heat stroke is possible. I can't count the times I've seen overweight, sweating and older (over 60) tourists stopped to rest and asking me how much further... they are usually in the first quarter of the trek and have quite a ways to go. Get into some walking shape anyway before you come if you want to see some really incredible waterfalls that not all that many people go to see when they vacation here... |
