Surfing in Phuket?
(Patong Beach)

Now, supposedly there are surfing waves in Patong beach sometimes during May-July timeframe. I am only reporting this secondhand because I have not seen them. Having spent 6 years living in Hawaii I'm skeptical that there is anything but slop because I've heard so little about this phenomena. A co-teacher I'm working with swears that there were people RIDING the waves on surfboards in Patong in July when he was there. He didn't get photos though - and that adds to my skepticism. Does anyone have photos of someone standing on a surfboard at Patong? Bodyboarding? Body surfing? Photos of waves? Please send...
