Cut Foot at the Beach and a Helpful Jacka**

July 30, 2007 by admin · 5 Comments

Cutting one’s foot at the beach happens often I think…

cut-foot-799751 Cut Foot at the Beach and a Helpful Jacka**The last time I sliced my foot open at the beach was when I was trying to out-maneuver some sharp rocks on the way into the water to do some wade-fishing in Florida around Ft. Desoto park. My foot slipped out of my sandal straps and landed on a rock that sliced the bottom of my foot open quick and deep. Stitches? What are those? That’s another scam the doctors use to make themselves feel important and to get some more cash off us.

Today I gave myself a break from 12-16 hour internet days and I headed to the beach early and was swimming in the water by 9:30 am. There were many tourists and despite of that I was having a great time. The scenery was great, the water warm. I went exploring around the side of the hill that met the water and found small caves and some cool places to explore. I climbed the rocks, some of them very sharp, others, the more smooth limestone… I explored for 10 minutes and then found a small hill to climb where I could jump 20 or so feet into the water below…

I jumped and it always seems further when you’re falling through the air. I hit and went deep, but no problem since I jumped for the deep spot I could see. Another guy followed me and he was fine too. As I swam back toward the beach I felt a rock underneath me - and I hit it solidly with the ball of my right foot. I KNEW it was cut as it felt like a good rip.

I took a look by holding it above the water for a second, yep, bleeding. Damn, that cuts the day at the beach quite short, doesn’t it?

As I swam into shore and hopped to my stuff a guy called to me - “What happened?” I told him I just cut my foot on a submerged rock. As I was drying off and pouring fresh water over it, opening it a little bit to make sure the water got in good and rinsed it before I found some hydrogen pyroxide at the pharmacy.

The guy comes up to me and says, “After your’e done rinsing it out you should spray this antiseptic into it”. I looked and he had a small can of it ready. I said, “Wow, you’re prepared.” I was thankful he had some so quickly after I got cut and it seemed like he was a genuinely helpful guy. He said, “Yeah, I’m always prepared. I cut my hand here the other day.” He showed me the healed scar - at least a month old.

He asked how deep it was. I said, not very… about a centimeter. He opened it up with his thumb and forefinger - stinging it a bit, and said, “Oh that’s pretty deep. You’re going to need stitches in that. I’m a nurse.”

I looked at it again, and opened it up myself… It was maybe a centimeter deep and not even 2 inches long.

I’m no stranger to lacerations. I’d had the cheek of my arse ripped open when I was in high school and that was a 3/4 inch deep rip about 9 inches long. I didn’t get stitches for THAT, I was not going to get stitches for this small “abrasion”. In my mind it was a small abrasion… though there was a good amount of blood pouring out of it.

I said, “It’s not that deep… I’m not going to get stitches…”

The guy stands up and in one motion is walking away and says sarcastically and as loud as he can, “OK, have a good day!” and walks away with his life giving staphlococcus killing spray antiseptic bouncing heavily in the plastic bag in his left hand.

What a jackass!

Jackasses that offer suggestions that are not followed think they’ve been slighted for some strange reason. This guy had some kind of issue with people not following his advice. Nurse or whatever he was, he didn’t really want to help because he ‘cared’. He wanted to help to get some respect. When I didn’t show him all the respect he felt he was due, he left without caring at all what happened.

Strange guy, but I’ve met lots of people like this.

Their attempt to help is only to gain respect, not because they actually give a shite about another human being… but they’re unfulfilled as human beings… they look at it as an opportunity to make themselves feel more important and get a small power trip. He wanted to feel important among the group of people that was there today, not feeling important enough already I guess.

To the fat jackass at the beach today… Don’t feign interest in helping others unless you feel it in your soul that you want to help. Nobody needs your half-assed offers that are thinly disguised attempts at making you feel better about your lame self.

Drunk Farang and His Ladyboy II: Audio only

July 29, 2007 by admin · Leave a Comment

So this guy is still drunk from early this morning at 5-6 am… and still having ladyboy problems. I heard his loud voice last night out my window as I’m trying to watch the final Tour de France stage… I stumbled to get my camera out fast enough. The video was worthless, but the audio was OK as he walked past the window.

Ladyboy problems… there are so many, go find a new one that will put up with your shite…

Drunk Farang 6am Arguing with his Ladyboy Partner

July 28, 2007 by admin · Leave a Comment

This is great, I get to kill two posts today with this one story. A drunk farang was going on and on since 5 am. and finally I decided to at least get some audio (they were too far to get the video). This is a typical interaction in the tourist areas at this time of morning on a Sunday.

They were about 80 meters away and still it was quite clear… F you, F that, go now, go away, every night this, you go with this man, you go with that man, you go away…

jeez…

Entertaining, but I had to resist a few times from shouting out - SHUT THE HELL UP. This morning I was an understanding type person because I know we all have our problems… tomorrow if it happens again? Well, I’m never really sure about tomorrow…

This movie file is .wmv format and will work with Windows and some other programs. It’s 2.2Mb in size and mostly I took it for the audio so don’t criticize my 6am. video shooting skills with my sony 4mp camera!

Teacher Fired for Blogging in Bangkok

July 26, 2007 by admin · 1 Comment

Teacher fired in Bangkok for blogging about things unrelated to her job.

Rather than repeat the story and steal her thunder, I’ll just point you over to her blog. She is a Filipina girl that just got her first job in Bangkok and was quickly fired from it after her employer read some of her blog posts.

The firing had NOTHING to do with her performance at work, but the fear that she would write in-depth posts about her workplace in the FUTURE. Not even the present - the fear of it for the future…

So, here is her story, her writing is absolutely incredible. Her command of the language is admirable and the way she presents things is just how I like to see it… I could read her blog all day!

See if you like it…

Oh, she’s also looking for work obviously, so if you have a writing job or maybe a teaching job for her that’d be great!

Original - Foreplay - Virgin Beverages?

July 26, 2007 by admin · 4 Comments

Original - Foreplay - Virgin Beverages?
Thailand has some great foods for sale. In particular I like the Shrimp flavored Lays Potato Chips.

I was in the store today and saw these enticing and tasty cold beverages, best served steaming hot.

You know what just hit me now as I look at the name? Hang. Hang means “dry” in Thai. This makes it not all that enticing at all. Dry foreplay and dry virgin? Hmm.

But, what is “Original”? Is that like missionary position?

Or are they telling me to be original - like upside down, hanging from a rack like bats sex?

Not sure. Funny stuff though.

19 Things I did Today (Wednesday)

July 25, 2007 by admin · Leave a Comment

19 Things I did Today (Wednesday)
1. Woke up at 6:15 am just like every day.

2. Mixed up luke-warm instant coffee and drank 8 ounces.

3. Wrote part of a blog post.

4. Ate breakfast at the cheap Chinese place, ‘gwit diao moo’. 25 baht.

5. Walked to internet cafe to talk to Thai owner, a brilliant entrepreneur and the only Thai guy I’ve ever met that was business smart in a world wide way, and driven to accomplish. Talked about 2 projects I might want to get started.

6. Walked to some Thai amulet shops to see about buying some to sell online. Was disgusted after about 5 shops and outrageous prices for metal cases containing compressed, painted dirt. One guy had the nerve to ask for 17,000 baht!

7. Walked to BKK bank to see why the PayPal transfer that is to pay for my food for the next week has taken over 10 days when usually it takes 5 days. STILL not there.

8. Walked up the hill to see the construction of a new wat made mostly of marble. Quite impressive. Was very afraid to step in puddles with electric extension cords running through ALL of them. Met some monk kids and some jackass selling broken Buddhist amulets for 1000 baht and telling the Buddhist kids that if I didn’t buy one that would give me good luck with the women I’d be “jak wow” (masturbating) by myself without a woman. He must have said this about 9 times, and I just felt bad for the kids that they’re under the influence of this rogue. Took some pics of the kids and left. Met a guy selling Thai antiques across the street. Joked with him in Thai for 15 minutes. Good guy, funny anyway.

9. Walked to hotel room and wrote a few blog posts, edited some photos and wondered how I was going to pay for a hotel room with no money in the bank until that PayPal transfer goes through! I came up with - pawn the LG phone I bought that sucks for reception.

10. Showered.

11. Went to dinner at gwit diao place on the road, it was great tasting and I always ask for and get extra bean sprouts to fill me up. I find I don’t care if I eat the same thing everyday - breakfast, lunch, dinner - no problem I just am not concerned about what I eat - as long as I eat! 25 baht.

12. Drove around on motorbike looking for a place to rent monthly as the hotel is sucking precious cash from the account.

13. Back to room to add 800+ Google ads to over 400 pages of photos on the Thaipulse.com site.

14. Paid hotel for another night. 250 baht.

15. Wrote a blog post for tomorrow.

16. Listened to “English Beat, Nirvana, Bush, and some Prodigy”.

17. Checked PayPal, Google Adsense, Amazon, Dreamstime, Fotolia, Google analytics, Webmaster tools, hittail, Godaddy stats, emailed some folks, chatted for an hour with friend in Bangkok.

18. Read online news.

19. Skype chatted with a fellow Thailand website network owner and superstar blogger and asked their professional opinions on a future project I’m considering.

19. Slept (will sleep) at midnight after a cup of ice-cream from 7-11 for 10 baht.

Totally Off-Topic, but Hilarious…

Pattaya Degenerates RUN!

July 24, 2007 by admin · Leave a Comment

Four Pattaya police departments are linking together in a network connected with Thailand’s Immigration Center in Bankok to better facilitate transfer of information to find blacklisted expats and other expats that need to be contacted by the police.

Of course, if you don’t have any electronic presence then you wouldn’t need to worry…

Short story at Pattaya City News, complete with pictures of people standing and sitting at desks - but no explanation about who anybody is in the pictures, or what they’re doing…
