Right - it's not a pro-ped book! In fact, it's my violent reaction to what pisses me off to an extreme degree. I worked with kids that were abused by their fathers, stepfathers... I met pedophiles and had to interact with them. I began writing this book back then - in 1993 I think it was. I wish I had the motivation to go through and really make this an amazing book - knock out 30,000 words or so - but, hard to find publishers for anything with ped in it - even anti-ped stories. So - oh well - will be a freebie... Thanks for commenting there MJ!

You have farangs without shirts in Isaan? Wow! That's news... I've not seen that one yet - but then you've been there waaaayyyy longer than I have. Isn't it sad though to see bar girls - what they'll do for cash... when they come home to Isaan to have their "john" meet the family... the pig that he is... and there they are walking around Big C or Robinson center hand in hand - him 65, sweating, fat and reeking of stink... and her, 19-22 years old covered with tattoos, piercings, make up and clothes that she thinks are all the sudden hip in Ubon. As much ranting as I do about the girls... they're doing what they can do... and I just wish the guys would wise up to it. It's outlandish to see guys that've been dating girls from bars (different ones) over and over year after year... decade after decade... eventually they kill themselves or worse. So many great girls in Isaan! Not the ones that work in bars in Pattaya, the ones that STAY in Isaan. The ones that never saw the inside of a bar.

I too am often amazed at how ignorant visitors can be. Even here in Isaan, where there isn't a beach in Cooeee. I still see farangs without shirts getting about.

I love the strike out in number 9. I laugh when I see two love birds in one of the seedy parts of Thailand groping his girlfriend virtually in public. I cannot believe that so many will kiss or worse go in for a good ten second snog.

It just goes to show how far bargirls will go, how much they will disregard their customs to just get a few more Baht out of some dimwit farang.

It's hard to say if Bangkok will get dangerous in the future. Tourists are never targeted (cross your fingers), but occasionally someone gets hurt. I really recommend to stay away from Bangkok - but Bangkok is a large part of the reason so many tourists come to Thailand. I can't stand the city myself, but millions love it.

There is a lot to see in Thailand, if Bangkok seems dicey, go to Chiang Mai or Phuket. Hua Hin is even quite the thriving tourist city.

Thaksin hasn't stopped fighting - and he and his red-shirts will probably take their turn protesting the newly formed government... then, who knows?

Most tourists going to Bangkok won't really be affected by future protests unless someone is dumb enough to try to take over the airport again. I think that was a one-time deal because the tourists won't even let that happen again - they'll remove whoever is there by themselves. That caused way too much loss. We're still feeling it. Patong, though it has some visitors probably doesn't have many 1st timers. Heck, the country probably doesn't have many first timers. Even veterans considered changing plans and going to Philippines or Cambodia for their annual 4-8 month stays.

Anyway - it's still pretty safe at the moment, and I don't think anyone should cancel plans - but, stay out of Bangkok to make sure...

You know Jim, I didn't even remember that I posted that as it was 6 months ago or more. If you need help setting it up just ask. Remember - Class 10 modem as a minimum. There are Class 12 modems and maybe more - but 10 works fine. Good luck with that.
