My wife and I live here in Thailand. I'm from the states. I visited Denver and Boulder areas before while doing some business there for AT&T and Cisco. I absolutely LOVED Colorado. It was a shock to see how beautiful it was. I came during both Winter and Spring and I fell in love with it.
The people are so much more friendly and relaxed than they are in some other states. I found driving, though congested, to be very mellow. People actually took turns on the freeway... letting others in from the on-ramps.
That I found amazing, considering a lot of time I spent in Miami and it's on-ramp nightmares!
While I was in Colorado I don't remember seeing any Thai restaurant there. I wouldn't think that too many Thai people go there to live because it's just too cold from what they're used to.
There is one cold area of Thailand - the North, in the Chiang Mai area. It get's down to zero C sometimes but so far it hasn't snowed. In the mountains I'm sure it must have snowed at some point, China is very close and get's very cold.
Thais' in the North are very friendly and sweet. Their food is spicy and yet more flavorful than hot kind of spicy. It's a wonderful place to visit if you have 2 weeks for vacation. The flight to BKK (Bangkok) will take about 24 hours, but other than that - in-country travel is easy and very cheap. Flights are less than $50 USD typically. Sometimes as low as $25!
Trains are just $10 to go 600 kilometers... and they serve Thai food in their little restaurant compartment!
