I lived in Hawaii for over 6 years on the islands of Oahu and Maui. The Thai restaurants in the islands are really excellent albeit, expensive as you might imagine. People on vacation in Hawaii are spending a lot of money on every meal so they don't seem to mind. Thai food in Hawaii is especially Authentic because it is in close proximity to Thailand and a lot of Thais move there to start a Thai restaurant business. I had a few friends in Maui that did just that. Their business was a blend of Thai and other Asian cuisine usually referred to as "fusion". The Thai restaurants of Hawaii are elegant and every part of the restaurant looks like it could be featured in a magazine. Usually they already HAVE been!

Flying from Thailand to Hawaii is just about $500 usd. I'll be going back sometime within the next two years or so when I get things settled here in Thailand. I will bring my wife and see if she would consider starting a Thai food restaurant in Hawaii. The rewards can be exceptional, but the work is undeniably hard. The pay is so-so. Nobody is really getting rich in the Hawaii restaurant business.

:P Ok- that's all for now. If you're in Hawaii - Enjoy these restaurants and write us a comment if you want to tell us about one in particular you were either happy with or unhappy with... ALOHA Thai Restaurant Connosiers!
