I met my first wife in Florida. She was a Thai girl that was born and raised in Illinois. Her father and mother came over from Thailand where they were doctors to learn medicine in the USA. They lived in a small farm city. When I visited her parents home with her I was eating the most delicious foods! I didn't want to leave! My wife didn't cook Thai food much. I think I remember exactly twice I was treated to something from Thailand. Her mom, on the other hand, could cook well and loved to do it for us. So - we all ate and gained weight at her mom's Thai restaurant (the kitchen in their home).

Fast forward to where I am now... 12 years later... and living in Thailand. There is a Thai restaurant always within walking distance. No wait, always within one block there are 10-20 Thai food restaurants!

I have been spoiled beyond belief. I am not just spoiled because of the restaurants, no. My girlfriend here in Thailand cooks Thai food EVERY DAY! I really wish she would open a Thai restaurant because everything she cooks is like a gourmet Thai food meal! She has cooked nearly daily for the last year and a half here at home. She can cook a wonderful variety of food and she NEVER cooks it wrong! It is unbelievable! I feel like I should be asking for the bill everyday after I finish. The vegetables and all ingredients are cooked perfectly. Not overdone. Not underdone. Not spiced too much. Not spiced too little. It's like she is my personal Thai food cooking God!

Thai restaurant food here is good - but, I would take my wife's cooking any day over it!
