Things to Do in Krabi:
Fresh Water Spring Kayaking and Elephant Trekking

Crystal clear freshwater kayaking stream, Krabi, Thailand. If you are looking for things to do in Krabi, Thailand then you are just like the hordes of other tourists that arrive here with only their Lonely Planet Guide book in hand. The Lonely planet guide book section on Krabi hasn't been updated in a long time and there are many things to see and do that aren't listed in the book. There are many caves, waterfalls, hot springs and other things to do that you just won't find listed in the Thailand Lonely Planet guidebook.

The other day I stumbled upon a great 1/2 day or 1 day adventure that is great for almost anyone that is looking to do something a bit out of the ordinary. I went to a place that has a long stream about 1.8 km long. It is a freshwater spring that supplies the water and it is moving water, so it is very clean, not stagnant. It winds it's way along the base of some mountains and is very scenic. I've included some photos here.

I have two favorite things that I like to do in Krabi. This is the first one and at the end of this I'll tell you about the second.

Krabi landscape. As I was talking to the woman that owned this kayaking business on the water she told me that she has half day and whole day packages and told me what were in them. I asked her if I could sell them online and she agreed. Today I went and signed the forms with my girlfriend and we're officially able to sell these packages on ThaiPulse!

The basic 1/2 day package (3.5 hours on site) includes:

Pickup from your hotel.
Kayaking on freshwater spring stream 1.6 km.
Walk to nature trail and the origin of the stream at the base of a mountain.
Swimming in the freshwater pools.
Lunch (Thai food) with foreigners favorites.
Back to hotel after 3.5 hours.

The full day package (7.5 hours on site) includes:

Pickup from your hotel.
Elephant trekking for 1 hour through the jungle bordering limestone hills.
Easy cave exploring and swimming in a freshwater pool (if you wish).
Kayaking on freshwater spring stream 1.6 km.
Walk to nature trail and the origin of the stream at the base of a mountain.
Swimming in the freshwater pools.
Lunch (Thai food) with visitors' favorites.
Back to hotel after 7.5 hours.

Adult: 1700 Thai baht. Child 4-11: 1200 b.

Note: Time you leave is up to you. When you arrive at the stream and elephants is when they start the clock, not when they pick you up like some of the other companies here. They open at 9 am and close at 5 pm. You can go anytime in between.
