Dod Fa (Dodfa or Dot Fa) Waterfall in Surat Thani, Thailand |

|
You likely WON'T find level 8 on your own without some trial and error. Keep in mind you must cross the stream multiple times to find the trails that continue up to level 8 and that might help you reach it. Ask someone to guide you if you really want to see it as Dod Fa is very cool and the best waterfall in Tai Rom Yen National park that we've seen. The staff do warn you not to go hiking into the Dot Fa waterfall area when there are heavy rains approaching - there could be flash floods. That being said, we've gone during rainy season quite a bit and though it rained on us while we were there - and we saw some obvious change in the levels of volume of water, but we still felt safe. On the other hand, in Hawaii on Maui we also felt safe in some waterfall pools - before someone told us that a couple people had just died in a flash flood in the very spot we were swimming!
Just down the road from Dod Fa are more waterfalls, hotsprings, and caves! Update 1/20: We have made it to the top of the waterfall - well, level 8. It is gorgeous. There is a small pool to swim in, but level 6 pool is bigger. However, there is about an 80 meter drop for the falls at level 8. It's really spectacular... waterfall photos and videos below.
