Ko Samui Thailand Beach Massage (Thai Massage)...

Ko Samui Thailand is the perfect place to splurge... you will spend a total of about 300 baht for an hour and a half Thai massage on this beautiful beach like you see me enjoying here!

We usually stay at a place in Tong Takien Bay that is just 500 per night for a fan bungalow and we spend a lot of time just relaxing at the calm beach that you see in the photo. There are very few visitors traveling there during the slow season and maybe 30 on the entire stretch of beach here. It is a quiet atmosphere and there are many trees to stay cool under or the water is clear enough to do some basic shallow water snorkeling.

There is some submerged coral and rocks with barnacles so it's wise to be very careful at this beach. On the left side it's a little bit deeper and less rocky so a better place to snorkel and swim overall.

There are maybe 8 different massage tables where you can have a Thai woman massage you for an hour or two. They offer many types of massage - focusing on your feet, back, neck, whole body -or you can negotiate for whatever you want exactly. On this day we chose to have a general hour massage and another 30 minutes on my feet. This woman was incredibly skillful and pleasant. She let my husband take photos during the entire session.

The location of this bay, Tong Takien, is just down the hill from "The Cliff" restaurant on the hill just south of Chaweng and not quite at Lamai yet.

Thai massage on Ko Samui Thailand island can be found at MANY places around the island. Anywhere you see a table about 1 foot off the ground, especially on the beach. Rates are very reasonable considering in America for an hour massage you might pay between $30 and $50. Here you will pay for a Thai massage about 250 baht per hour on average. This equates to just $6.00 usd for one hour! Anyone can afford that massage!

When I travel and I'm trying to relax I will usually get a Thai massage everyday - and sometimes twice each day. They make me feel incredible! There's no reason for me to spend a lot of money at the high-society spas, though they too are very available all over the island. There are many resorts and spas all over the island that offer not only Thai massage but colonics and other treatments that tourists avail themselves of while visiting Ko Samui Thailand.
