Cheap Holiday in Ko Samui,
Surat Thani, Thailand

Ko Samui white sand beaches, an ideal cheap holiday.  Ko Samui offers the ideal cheap holiday!

Yes the sand is THIS beautiful in the south of Ko Samui. This is among the finest and whitest sand I've seen. I've lived in Hawaii for 6 years, Florida for 11 and New York City near Coney Island.

The sand at this particular spot is idyllic for pictures and gives new meaning to the phrase "cheap holiday". Ko Samui can be yours for just 110 baht from Don Sak Pier over the Seatran Ferry to Ko Samui island for your cheap holiday. To get from Surat to Don Sak you can take a bus or a van which both vary in price - but either one is about 100 baht... a little more on the van if not enough passengers.

Vans can be found at any of the small travel agencies - they all know the phone number for the van to come pick up Ko Samui goers - so just stop in and ask the price at one. The prices are all similar but if you want the cheapest holiday you'll stop in to a couple different travel agencies. The buses are very cheap, but a bit slow. You'll still get there in just over an hour on the bus. Buses are on the main road in Surat Thani named, "Talod Mai" and it's close to a large hotel with a spider web on the outside of the building. This is also near the ECC English school which is on the corner of Talod Mai and Chon Kasem roads.

This particular picture is from a beach on Ko Samui that is very close to Nathan pier on the south side of the island. If you are coming from Chaweng or Lamai side (the east side of the island) and you come down the main road, you'll see a sign for boat pier - the first sign is NOT Nathan pier... so pass it by. There is a sign for NATHAN pier and you want to make that left turn.

Once you make that turn you'll see the ocean in front of you. Park right there before the corner - be careful there are some no parking signs there at the corner. Walk right down into the water. If it's low-tide you'll see a scene similar to this one. The sand is gorgeous. The Water - clear and clean. The water is very shallow and if it's sunny outside the sand is very white and the water is like glass. You can walk a very far distance out in to the surf and take pictures. On your left is really nothing - and makes a good backdrop for photos.

There is a small sandbar - a couple really, that are like small sandy islands depending on what state the tide is in at the moment you arrive. Cheap holidays on Ko Samui are the best! Likely you will be the ONLY people in this water as there isn't a place to lay towels. And, when it's low tide it doesn't look as good as it does like when there is some water - like the picture shown.

This IS a place that you could bring a float to lay on and just be lazy in the water for a few hours. If the sun is out you'll BAKE, but the solitude might be worth it.
