Seatran Ferry Don Sak Pier to Ko Samui Island,
Surat Thani, Thailand

Take the Seatran ferry from Don Sak Pier to Ko Samui Island, Thailand!

Seatran ferry departure for Ko Samui, Thailand island. This ferry service to Ko Samui runs every hour from 6:00 in the morning until 7:00 pm at night. They are very safe, it is a huge boat that takes motorbikes, cars, trucks, buses and dump trucks plus over a hundred persons.

Often times in the mornings there is a LONG row of dump trucks that are taking building supplies to Ko Samui because they are urgently needed. Ko Samui is an island that is always being renovated. The streets, hotels, new hotels, and new things to do are always being created.

The photo at the top with the little girl looking out over the ocean is the view leaving Don Sak pier in the Surat Thani province of Thailand. You can see the beautiful mountains in the background.

There is also an area near Don Sak pier called "Kanom". It has beaches that are sometimes (most times) deserted and it's a nice place to relax if you want more of a Thai experience without so many tourists. There are some hotels and other bungalow type accomodations that are easy to find if you just drive along the beach road in Kanom.

Interior Seatran ferry to Ko Samui

Interior air conditioned seating, Seatran ferry from Don Sak pier to Ko Samui Island, ThailandThe interior photo is the air conditioned section of the Seatran ferry where you can feel free to lay down and fall asleep for the 90 minute trip if there are plenty of seats available so you're not taking up space for someone to sit down if they wish. There are some televisions playing movies, Thai comedy, or muay Thai boxing for your "enjoyment".

Behind me, as I'm taking that photo is a snack shop that has instant noodles (soups), candy, salty snacks, cupcakes, sodas and many other things to snack on. The prices are a bit high - for instance, a can of coke was 20 baht (50 cents usd) whereas, at the 7-11 in town here in Surat Thani we can get a can for just 13 baht. Tesco and Big C have it for 12 b.

Ko Samui visitors boarding Seatran ferry at Don Sak pier. The last photo I have here is the tourists boarding. I was already on board because they let those of us with motorsai (motorbikes) on first so we can park and then the cars, trucks, buses and everything else pull in behind us. Otherwise we'd be dying of diesel exhaust if they let us go in last and we had to wait for every vehicle to exit before we got to exit!

The price for the Seatran ferry from Don Sak pier to Ko Samui (Nathan Pier) is just 110 baht per person. That's a bout $2.50 usd for a 90-minute boat ride with air conditioning and incredible views! Even if you go for the day you should go just to experience Ko Samui.

During the high season rooms start at 800 or 1000 baht for a fan room (about $30 USD) at the present currency exchange rate. It goes up (way up) from there. The prices are NOT exhorbitant when compared with the value you get. If shared, the expense is nothing to be concerned about at all.

Go to Ko Samui on the Seatran ferry boat for your cheap holiday in Thailand and see what an incredibly cool destination Ko Samui is... and a very

CHEAP HOLIDAY in THAILAND!
