 We buy our new amulets from Wat Tum Sua in Krabi, Thailand. We find some of our authentic antique Thai amulets here at Somchai's small store. Out of the hundreds of places in Thailand to buy old amulets, I trust him the most. He (sitting) knows EVERYTHING about them. We have seen him at the local temples and I know he is a devout and practicing Buddhist . He has some incredible antique silver-cased amulets that are to die for... Unfortunately, every time I pick out one of the old, heavy silver cases to buy he picks it up - and starts talking to himself in Thai... I know he's repeating where he got it and what it means to him... and he just can't make himself part with any of them! I have tried to buy some of those antique amulets four times without success. He won't sell the ones that are special to him - at any price. On my first visit to meet with him I chose 10 amulets that would have probably gone for $3000 USD. He would have made a lot of money just from those 10. He wouldn't sell even ONE of them to me! This guy is phenomenal. He consented to this photo only because he adores my girlfriend. Oh, before I forget - he has a very talented daughter who is an artist - see the monk drawings behind him? Which temple? Any special circumstances surrounding the amulet? Is it for good luck? Good fortune? Good health? Prosperity? Business luck? Relationships? Somchai has become our good friend over time and we're glad to have met him as he supplies us not only with about half of the amulets we have available, but because we learn so much every trip we make to his place.
