Every year or so I do one of these posts asking for some help with my Youtube video project.
I have a ton of views and 8,000+ subscribers to my channel. The content is 98% focused on Thailand topics.
I keep saying, this is the year I focus 100% on Youtube and really KILL IT. Each time I write a post like this, I am optimistic for about a week, two weeks and then I lose all hope of finding the person I need to help me with this. See, I don’t really just want someone to help me, I want someone to JOIN ME at Thailand Living on Youtube.
What that means, I’ll try to explain below.
- Are you single?
- Do you have a monthly income which doesn’t require you to stay in one location and work?
- Do you have an interest in video production – being on camera? Shooting video of someone else?
- Can you edit video at all? Nothing major needed, and this isn’t a requirement, however, it would help.
- Are you living in Thailand full-time? I need someone that lives here, not visiting. This would be a long-term project – at least a few months to see what kind of level we can bring it up to.
I need to find someone:
That has money coming in already and doesn’t need to work. They don’t have a family. They don’t have an addiction they need to keep going. They don’t need to do anydamnthing except help us blow up on Youtube. That would be the ideal. If you have a family and can still get out a lot – to travel or shoot videos for a couple days at a time, great, that still can work. What doesn’t work is if you need to be teaching English or doing something else to make money. I have a family, but I have the freedom to take off when I want for up to a week if necessary. I can travel around Thailand pretty much at will. I need to have a partner that has more time than I do, or is in a similar situation because otherwise arranging days to shoot will be more trouble than it’s worth.
I need to find someone that has energy, intelligence, is funny, and who doesn’t mind being on camera. This will be almost like a reality show, but we’re not filming daily 24-7, we’re just shooting some interesting content which will be either funny, weird, shocking, disgusting, or something else.
You should have an open mind about most things. No homophobes or anyone that gets in fights at the bars. You should have a sense of humility and be able to self-deprecate. I don’t want anyone that believes in Jesus, Mohammed, Casper the Friendly Ghost, or any of that nonsense. We’ll be swearing on camera. We’ll be in bars sometimes. We’ll be interviewing ladyboys, toms, expats, lunatics, cobras, spiders, and whores. You should be OK with that. You should love it really.
I don’t care what country you’re from, or what language you speak primarily. You must speak English well. If you also speak Thai, that’s a big bonus. My Thai is passable for general conversation, but I’m unable to get complicated points across. If you can do that, it would help immensely. If you cannot, it isn’t a problem, we’ll get by.
There is a short-term goal and a long-term goal. Well, many, but here are the main ones:
Short-Term. We shoot a lot of video, really make an extreme effort to make the most interesting videos possible. We do this for a few months and see what happens with the views at Youtube. If it takes off then we’ll look at long-term goals.
Long-Term. We create the biggest Thailand channel on Youtube. We make it a full-time project and we keep going until one of us dies or gets bored.
If you think you could be interested in this, let me know as soon as possible. If I’m going to do this in 2014 I need to do it now.
